Podium Presentation Title: Lateral Extra-Articular Procedures Significantly Reduce ACL Graft Rupture Rates in Elite Alpine Skiers

چکیده
The purpose of this study was to determine whether elite alpine skiers undergoing anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) combined with a lateral extra-articular procedure had lower rate ACL graft rupture when compared those who underwent isolated ACLR. Elite from the French National Ski Team undergone reconstruction, or without (LEAP), and minimum follow-up 2 years, were identified national ski team database. Rates secondary injury determined by interrogation database; medical notes review final telemedicine interview. A multivariate analysis using penalized Cox model performed explore relationship between rupture, surgical type any potential explanatory variables. Among 81 ACLR procedures analyzed, 50 in an manner (isolated group) 31 LEAP (ACLR+LEAP group), which either modified Lemaire anterolateral (ALLR). Graft rates 34.0% group 6.5% ACLR+LEAP group. Multivariate demonstrated that adding significantly reduced risk (Hazard Ratio (HR) = 5.286, IC 95% [1.068; 26.149], P .0412). Age (HR 1.114, .1157), Gender 1.573, .3743) Type 1.417, .5394) not found be significant factors. Combined confer 5-fold reduction athletes. Those treated remained at extremely high second injury.

Extra-articular tenodesis for anterior cruciate ligament rupture in amateur skiers.
Thirty one amateur skiers with 33 knees which had had a symptomatic chronic rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) treated with the Lemaire operation were reviewed retrospectively at an average of 4.5 years. Of the patients 23 were women. The operation failed to control symptoms in 17 out of the 33 knees. However the operation did control symptoms in 13 out of 19 knees in patients over...
متن کاملACL Reconstruction Preserving the ACL Remnant Achieves Good Clinical Outcomes and Can Reduce Subsequent Graft Rupture
BACKGROUND Although anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction techniques that preserve remnant tissues have been described, complete preservation may be difficult, with little known about its clinical advantages. PURPOSE To compare clinical outcomes in patients undergoing ACL reconstruction with and without ACL remnant preservation. STUDY DESIGN Case-control study. METHODS Of 372 pa...
متن کاملExtra-articular lateral reconstruction technique.
This article describes an anterolateral reconstruction procedure that, when used in combination with an intra-articular anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, restores rotary and anterior knee stability. We believe that failing to recognize lateral instabilities and to perform an extra-articular reconstruction is an under-recognized cause of failure of ACL reconstruction. We also desc...

متن کاملExtra-articular Mimickers of Lateral Meniscal Tears
CONTEXT Lateral meniscus tears are a common entity seen in sports medicine. Although lateral-side knee pain is often the result of a meniscus injury, several extra-articular pathologies share signs and symptoms with a meniscus tear. It is critical for the clinician to be able to identify and understand extra-articular pathologies that can present similar to a lateral meniscus tear. EVIDENCE A...
